Esso and His Buddies: The Return of the Huge Green Bed

Posted on September 19, 2014September 19, 2014

cat esso pc etcThese are cats in Room 7. The picture with Esso and 3 of his friends was taken a while ago. They are in the green bed, a very large comfortable and comforting place for these scaredy-cats to snuggle together.

cat esso etcSomeone removed the green bed a while ago (to clean) and it hadn’t been returned. A few days ago, I found Esso and 2 friends in a jumble in a replacement much smaller bed – a tight squeeze had Esso actually laying on top of his friends.

car-cramming-renaultI went searching for the green bed and finally found it. You have no idea how happy they were to see it after all this time. They all started to pile in, like it was one of those contests in the 50’s to see how many people could squeeze into a phone booth or a car.. The next time I’m there, I expect to see a large number of the cats intertwined in their green bed……

About North Toronto Cat Rescue (NTCR)

North Toronto Cat Rescue (NTCR) is a registered, non-profit, 100% volunteer-run organization in its 30th year of continuous community service. It was established by Donna Cox, whose goal was to take vulnerable cats off the street and bring them into a secure environment, where they could live in complete safety until they found their permanent home.

Over the years, more than 3,000+ cats have benefited from the services of NTCR, and are now living the lives they deserve as part of a loving family. These cats found hope and a permanent home after having experienced varying degrees of hardship in the hostile street environment or in the hands of uncaring owners. Approximately 160 cats are still living at the shelter today, away from the horrors of the street and the harsh lives they previously led.
